You can burn your Luna Tigre candle any way you want! But to achieve the most complete burn possible, follow these super simple tips.

These are great tips for burning any candle (not just ours).

1. On the first burn

The first time you burn your candle is the most important. Plan to allow the candle to burn up to four hours so that the liquid wax reaches all the way to the edge of the container. Not achieving an adequate first burn can cause tunneling and your candle may not burn down as evenly.

2. trim your wick

Before relighting, check your wick! It’s likely that a quick wick trim will allow the candle to burn cleaner and more evenly. Keep wicks trimmed to 1/4" after the first burn. Discard of properly cooled wick trimming in the waste basket.

3. Mind your melt pool

Be sure to allow your candle to burn long enough on subsequent burns so that the top layer of wax is melted. It shouldn’t take as long as it did the first time.

4. When to discard/rock your jar

When only 1/4 inch of wax remains, stop burning your candle. You can discard of any remaining wax in the trash (not the sink!), remove the wick assembly with pliers and wash your container with soap and warm water. Now you’ve got a great container for your pencils, bottle cap collection, or whatever YOUR life calls for!
